Port Jefferson Rotary Bulletin

What an incredible meeting we had yesterday! It was wonderful to welcome Felix, a prospective new member, and to hear from our inspiring guest speaker, Dr. Carol Carter of the Sunshine Prevention Center. Dr. Carter shared the tremendous impact their organization continues to make in our community, and we were honored to present our support.

The energy in the room was contagious! Members were fully engaged as we discussed our newly formed Fundraising Committee and several exciting ideas for the year ahead. From new fundraisers, our upcoming Putt & Pub Crawl, and many other exciting initiatives, there is so much to look forward to. This is definitely a year you won't want to miss!

Our weekly raffle jackpot continues to grow and is now just over $450! Your next opportunity to win will be Tuesday, August 18, at Café Spiga. That meeting will also be our Membership Drive in celebration of Rotary's August theme: Membership Month. Be sure to "Bring One for Bread" by inviting a friend, neighbor, coworker, or family member to experience the fellowship and service that make Rotary so special.

A heartfelt thank you to Al for generously opening his beautiful barn for our Kiwis gathering on Thursday, August 27, from 5:00–8:00 p.m. We can't wait for another wonderful evening of fellowship.

Our August calendar is packed with service, fellowship, and fun!

• Thursday, August 6: Join us at the Camp Pa-Qua-Tuck Fundraiser at The Backyard in Middle Island. Come cheer on John and me as we defend our 3rd Place Cornhole Championship, and support Kim and Gary in the social competition!
• Tuesday, August 11: From 11:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m., we'll be serving Chick-fil-A lunch to the campers and staff at Camp Pa-Qua-Tuck. Afterward, we'll enjoy some fellowship and refreshments at Po'Boy Brewery before heading to Open Door Exchange from 5:00–8:00 p.m. to help clean and organize their warehouse.

It's going to be a month filled with food, fun, fellowship, and meaningful service—everything Rotary is all about.

I can't wait to see each of you as we continue creating lasting impact together.
