News of the Meeting of March 8th:
Today, we held a Club Assembly at our new meeting place (for now) at The Cafe Spiga on North Country Rd. in Mt. Sinai. Thank you, Dennis for finding this restaurant and arranging for us to gather here in such a short space of time. Our next two meetings (3/22 and 3/29) will also be held in this friendly place. Our members seemed to much enjoy the food, service, and atmosphere and look forward to returning.  Kindly recall: Next Tuesday, March 15, there will be NO MEETING. INSTEAD, we'll have a networking event on WEDNESDAY, 3/16, 6:30- 8 PM, at Archana's People's United Bank on Nesconset Hwy. in South Setauket (across from The Atria). Please plan to attend- and bring friends, especially prospective member types.
A group of our members are in the process of checking out other possible meeting sites- restaurants with a private room and ample parking- in the Village, the Station, and Mt. Sinai vicinity.  Your ideas are welcome.
Thank you, Open Cupboard donors and Jim & Dennis for delivering the goods to the pantry!
Also, thanks are due to Bill, Ed, Karl, Erika, and the 2 boy scout troops that collected goods at Mt. Sinai's King Kullen during our 3/5 Stuff-A-Van activity. The next Stuff-A-Van will take place on 5/7. Will you be able to help out?

ANNOUNCEMENTS/REMINDERS: There's $78 in the pot waiting to be won. YOU could be our next winner. Next opportunity: our March 22nd luncheon. On that date, we'll also honor a Most Motivated Student from PJMS, and Debbie will speak to us about The Library. Dennis reminds us: Thurs.,March 10th- you're invited to attend the RYLA meeting at 7 PM at Deepwells in St. James.  Gift of Life, Inc. is sponsoring the "41st Crusade of the Heart Gala" on 3/19 at The Garden City Hotel. The Reception begins at 7 PM and will be followed by Dinner at 8 PM. This is a black tie preferred event.Cost: $225 p/p. Meanwhile, another Gift of Life Fundraiser is planned for 4/28 from 6 to 10 PM at Windows on the Lake in Lake Ronkonkoma. This will be an Oldies Dinner Dance (black tie preferred or business suit) with a live oldies show. Cost: $45 p/p. This event has already attracted enough club members to fill a table or more (13 or 14 at last count). Contact Ed if you'd be interested in joining him, Archana, Deb, Bill, Sharon, Erika, Dennis, and their spouses on this evening.  Our Spring Camp Pa-Qua-Tuck Cleanup Day will be May 15th. Chores may include painting (in cabins & a barn). Rocky Point and Middle Island Rotarians and the Interact clubs they sponsor have been invited to join us and PJHS Interact. You've also been invited to the Hauppauge Rotary Club's Casino Night to benefit the Cleary School for the Deaf and his club on Sat., 3/12, 7-11 PM at The Cleary School (301 Smithtown Blvd., Nesconset).
