ANNOUNCEMENTS/REMINDERS: NEXT TUESDAY, November 13th, we will honor our 1st Most Motivated Student from Comsewogue High School! This will also be an OPEN CUPBOARD COLLECTION DAY. If you are unable to attend this meeting, kindly drop off your donation with a member who can attend and bring your donation with him/her. Remember: at this time of year, our donations become increasingly essential to our community members in need. Please check out our Club Calendar and note that there will be NO MEETING on Nov. 20th (Thanksgiving Week); and the following week, Nov. 27th, we will have an EVENING MEETING/social gathering at St. Charles Hospital, 5:30-7:00 PM. THE POT IS NOW AT $521!!! ROTARY DUES ($ 325) are now very past due!!! According to our new Club Bylaws, to maintain your membership in the club, you need to participate in any 2 Rotary-related activities per month, ie., meeting attendance, donating to the Open Cupboard and /or Woodhaven Nursing Home, volunteering for a Stuff-A-Van event or at Camp Pa-Qua-Tuck, a Habitat build, attendance at Committee or Board Meetings, and the like. Please notify Yvette of each make-up at your earliest convenience. Michael invites all members to attend the 2nd Annual Winter Golf Classic Committee Meeting THIS Friday, Nov. 9th, at 4 PM in his office. The more the merrier! (*This major fundraising event will take place in The Village on February 9th.*) Dennis reminds us that Our Fall Camp Pa-Qua-Tuck Clean-Up will happen This Sunday, November 11th, beginning at 8:30 AM. A breakfast buffet will be available for adults at 8:30 and then for the student volunteers a bit later. Will YOU will be among the volunteers to help out in this event? Bring rakes & dress in layers. Old clothing is best if you're on a painting or cleaning crew. Thank you, Nancy & Mike, for offering to be the BBQ cooks! We look forward to a delicious ending to an energetic day. Jackie Harkins, Mt.Sinai HS 11th grader and RYLA leader, wants to spread awareness and raise money for mental health. The monies raised will benefit the youth at Mather Hospital being treated for mental illness- allowing for purchases of reading materials, CDs, DVDs, etc. Jen invites you to attend the Port Jeff Station/Terryville Chamber of Commerce and Civic Association-sponsored ANNUAL TREE LIGHTING EVENT on Sat., December 1st , from 6-8 PM at the Chamber Train Car (Corner of Rt.112 & Rt.347- entrance on Rose Ave.) Santa will arrive on a Fire Truck! On December 4th, we will hold our ANNUAL CHRISTMAS GIFT WRAPPING EVENT at the PJ High School cafeteria, beginning at 2:45 PM. Prior to that date, you will receive from Kevin your list of gift recipients for whom you'll be making purchases ($50 per child will be reimbursed). Once the gifts are wrapped and delivered to The Open Cupboard, we will gather for a Fellowship/Holiday celebration- perhaps at (The New) Billie's. Pat & Al will soon be working on refurbishing our harbor bus shelter and will, undoubtedly, welcome members' help. Kathy Taveira's BNB is sponsoring a Coat Drive. Comsewogue Public Library is collecting gently used or new shoes in a box . (The proceeds will benefit the Miller Place Robotics Team.) OUR ANNUAL SKI TRIP WILL TAKE PLACE JAN 9-12, 2019.
