News of the Meeting of June 27th
Today, Archana's last meeting as Club President, was celebrated in good cheer and fellowship. Members expressed their heartfelt thanks for her two years of thoughtful, effective leadership and enjoyed the lighthearted luncheon.

ANNOUNCEMENTS/REMINDERS: There's now $675 in the pot waiting to be won- with only a dozen or so cards left to draw from. Yes, the Ace of Spades is still among them , but a Joker lurks in the pile, as well. It could be YOU who wins the pot. Next opportunity: our 7/11 luncheon at Cafe Spiga, when Michael will begin his stint as Club President. ***Kindly remember:  WE WILL NOT MEET NEXT WEEK -JULY 4th.   How are your sales of Raffle Tickets going? Susan looks forward to collecting your ticket stubs and the money folks used to purchase tickets from you.***SAVE THIS DATE, please: THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 14th: the date of our ANNUAL PAST PRESIDENTS DINNER & RAFFLE DRAWING (& celebration of the 80th ANNIVERSARY OF THE CLUB's FOUNDING !).This auspicious event will take place at Savino's Hideaway, corner of North Country & Pipe Stave Hollow Roads in Mt. Sinai. More info will be forthcoming soon. Members who attended the June 20th Port Jeff & Rocky Point Rotary Clubs' New Officer Inductions at Savino's reported that they very much enjoyed the evening of camaraderie and were especially impressed with DG MJ Fitzgerald, who swore in our 2017-18 leaders. Archana noted that last week, she was pleased to present on our behalf the PJ Middle School Most Motivated Student of the Year Award to a very impressive 8th grader. You are invited to attend Seatuck Cove Rotary's Antique Appraisal Day on July 8th, 9 AM to 12 PM, at the South Bay Bible Church (578 Montauk Hwy.) in East Moriches. You may bring up to 5 items for appraisal - with a suggested donation of $5 per item. Dennis is hoping that our club will be able to come up with 2 foursomes to participate in the Annual Southold Rotary Golf Tournament on Wednesday, August 30th. Contact him if you're interested. As Judi Betts continues to recover from her broken femur at Jefferson's Ferry (Rm.# 200), she looks forward to receiving visitors- especially after 2 PM. Our good thoughts will be with Dennis as he undergoes a necessary medical procedure tomorrow.

Bob is still seeking evening meeting places, 1 per month, for this summer.  Contact him if you can provide a meeting site.

May the 4th be with you!  Here's to an enjoyable, safe holiday!
