What a wonderful and inspiring Rotary meeting we had this week!

We were thrilled to welcome two incredible Rotary Youth Exchange students from Italy—Aurora, sponsored by the Riverhead Rotary Club, and Rebecca, proudly sponsored by the Port Jefferson Rotary Club. We look forward to sharing this unforgettable exchange experience with them and wish them an amazing summer on Long Island.

A special congratulations to Summer Relander and Daphne Dzvonar, who were honored with the Judi & Earl Betts Memorial Youth Exchange Scholarship. This meaningful scholarship continues the Betts family's legacy of supporting young people through the life-changing Rotary Youth Exchange program.

Our meeting was very well attended, and we were privileged to hear from our guest speaker, Ryan Yuhas of Open Door Exchange. Ryan shared the incredible work his organization does throughout our community, including their ongoing paint can recycling fundraiser and the urgent need for mattresses, with nearly 400 people currently on the waiting list.

The Port Jefferson Rotary Club is ready to help! We invite everyone to bring unwanted paint cans to our community service project on Tuesday, August 11, from 5:00–8:00 PM as we volunteer to help clean and organize the Open Door Exchange warehouse at 200 Wilson Street, Port Jefferson Station (behind Po' Boy Brewery). Together, we can make a real difference for our neighbors in need.

We were also proud to present Open Door Exchange with a $1,000 donation to support their outstanding mission and the countless families they serve.
