News of the Meeting of November 27th
Today, from 5:30-7 PM, we enjoyed another social/networking gathering- this time at St. Charles Hospital.  Thank you for your gracious hospitality, Marilyn Fabbricante, John Perkins, and Lisa Mulvey, and for the fine culinary spread that you provided for our 16 members and 3 guests.
Following the socializing, Michael held a meeting of the Golf Outing Committee, and all of the people present were invited to offer suggestions for assuring this upcoming event's success.  Watch for more news soon about our winter fundraiser- and how YOU can help....
 

ANNOUNCEMENTS/REMINDERS:   NEXT TUESDAY, December 4th, we will meet again at Cafe Spiga at noon. ***Kindly note that on December 11th, we will be welcoming a visit by the District Governor at Cafe Spiga.  All members should plan to attend. ***THE POT IS NOW AT $540!!! ***  ROTARY DUES ($ 325) are now extremely past due!!! If you have not yet paid your dues, please do so immediately if you wish to remain a Port Jefferson Rotarian.  According to our new Club Bylaws, to maintain your membership in the club, you need to participate in any 2 Rotary-related activities per month, ie., meeting attendance, donating to the Open Cupboard and /or Woodhaven Nursing Home, volunteering for a Stuff-A-Van event or at Camp Pa-Qua-Tuck, a Habitat build, attendance at Committee or Board Meetings, and the like.  Please notify Yvette of each make-up at your earliest convenience.     Jen invites you to attend the Port Jeff Station/Terryville Chamber of Commerce and Civic Association-sponsored ANNUAL TREE LIGHTING EVENT on Sat., December 1st , from 6-8 PM at the Chamber Train Car (Corner of Rt.112 & Rt.347- entrance on Rose Ave.) Santa will arrive on a Fire Truck! Come enjoy Sounds of the Season by The School of Rock. Guests Receive: Hot Chocolate- compliments of Colonial Coffee; Cookies- compliments of Buttercup's Dairy; Train Whistles- compliments of Bass Electric, Inc.; and Candy Canes- compliments of PJ BOWL.****** After our Cafe Spiga meeting, oDecember 4th, we will hold our ANNUAL CHRISTMAS GIFT WRAPPING EVENT at the PJ High School cafeteria, beginning at 2:15 PM. You should have already received from Kevin your list of gift recipients for whom you'll be making purchases ($45 per child will be reimbursed). ***If you haven't received your list or wish to not participate, kindly notify Kevin ASAP. Once the gifts are wrapped and delivered to The Open Cupboard, we will gather for a Fellowship/Holiday celebration at (The New) Billie's- at around 4 PM. ****** Also on December 4th, you are invited to enjoy St. Charles' Christmas Tree Lighting and Chapel Concert. Kathy Taveira's  BNB is collecting food for The Open Cupboard.  Comsewogue Public Library is collecting gently used or new shoes in a box .  (The proceeds will benefit the Miller Place Robotics Team.)  OUR ANNUAL SKI TRIP WILL TAKE PLACE  JAN 9-12, 2019 at The Indian Head Resort. THE COST, $220 FOR A DOUBLE ($370 FOR A SINGLE; $208 FOR A TRIPLE), COVERS 3 NIGHTS LODGING, 2 BREAKFASTS, 1 DINNER,  1 BOX LUNCH, & HAPPY HOUR.  SKIING IS AVAILABLE AT BRETTON WOODS & LOON.  FAMILY & FRIENDS ARE WELCOME.  CONTACT KEVIN FOR MORE DETAILS. *** R.S.V.P BY DECEMBER 18th TO ENSURE THAT YOU GET A ROOM.  CHECKS SHOULD BE MADE OUT TO "THE PJ ROTARY CLUB".   Our next Spring Camp Pa-Qua-Tuck Clean Up will take place on April 7th, 2019!
