News of the Meeting of January 8th
Today was an OPEN CUPBOARD COLLECTION DAY.  Thank you donors, and thank you, Dennis for collecting and dropping off this month's donations at their destination!
We were also proud and pleased to formally welcome as our newest member, Cindy Tischer, whose sponsor, Judi Betts helped Michael induct Cindy.  Welcome, Cindy!
Today was also a CLUB ASSEMBLY DAY.  The main topic was preparing our membership for our upcoming (February 9th) 2nd Annual Winter Golf Classic, with Michael explaining what will be expected of all members in order to make this fundraiser a great success.  Michael announced that 750 flyers/brochures have already been sent out to area businesses.  He gave out brochures and asked that each Rotarian: get people to sign up to participate, preferably as a part of foursomes; ask businesses/friends/family/acquaintances for sponsorships of one form or another (ie., purchasing tee signs);  pass out the brochures advertising our event; post posters that do the same; collect a raffle item from a business or buy and donate a gift of some value for our raffle (ie., season tickets to an event); sign up as a volunteer on a committee or at a hole during the event.  It is hoped that all members will actively support this effort.  More soon....
